Why do businesses support Sierra Repertory Theatre?

Andy ’s True Value Home Center

“Supporting SRT is great marketing for us. It just makes sense…you reach so many people who are active and involved and from so many different walks of life. It’s good business…and it’s supporting something we love, so it’s personal, too. I think SRT is the most wonderful thing in

this community and I want to see it continue.”

—Jan Anderson, Co-owner

Black Oak Casino

“We feel that our partnership with Sierra Repertory Theatre is a positive advertising tool to reach a large segment of our demographic who like to take advantage of the many entertainment options our region offers. In addition, the impression marketing our relationship with quality theatre generates, is a positive image for the Casino to pursue as part of our overall reach into the regional market. The theatre also attracts guests from a fairly affluent cross section of our target demographic.”

—Al O’Brien, Marketing and Entertainment

CLARKE BROADCASTING

“We feel it’s important to support the cultural aspect within our community and SRT is a natural partner to reach tourists as well as our local patrons. Every progressive community is measured by its diversity and it seems essential that the Arts would lead the way.”

—Larry England, General Manager

Golden State Cellular

“We’ve been SRT sponsors for five years now, and we always use our tickets for a social event for our staff. We organize at least four company outings per year and our night at SRT is always the most popular.”

—Jan Opie, Product Development Manager

Sierra Repertory Theatre

A quarter century of theatre excellence

Partner with Sierra Repertory Theatre and you’re teaming with the very best—an award winning

nonprofit theatre company known for superb productions, exceptional performers and the highest level of artistic excellence. Annual attendance tops 66,000 patrons, more than 60 percent from the Central Valley, surrounding foothill communities and the Bay Area.

Our Theatre

Sierra Repertory Theatre, the Central Sierra’s leading theatre destination for more than 29 years, presents 10 shows and more than 380 performances per year at two unique venues: its original intimate and contemporary East Sonora theatre and the historic Fallon House in Columbia State Historic Park. Sierra Rep has a professional staff of 28 artists, technicians and managers, and contracts with more than 200 performers and artists each season from Broadway, Off-Broadway and across the nation, including members of the professional Actors Equity Association.

Our Audience

Sierra Repertory Theatre draws a growing audience from the foothills, Central Valley and Bay Area, as more and more people discover the exceptional quality of our work. Attendance has increased more than 35% in the last five years, and Sierra Rep today has more than 2,300 season subscribers. A recent comprehensive demographic review showed Sierra Rep’s audience is a desirable group to reach:

• 60% of Sierra Rep audiences are college educated.

• Nearly 60% of our audiences have household incomes above $50,000.

• A very high percentage of Sierra Rep audiences are homeowners, have bought a new car or truck, have interests in the outdoors and home improvements, and have investments, insurance and credit cards.

Our Value

Research shows that Americans continue to place a high value on the performing arts in their communities—and our region is a case in point. In a recent community survey, arts and culture were among Tuolumne County’s most valued resources. More than half the respondents said they consider a good variety of performing arts “extremely important,” and one in seven specifically mentioned live theatre as a factor that improves the quality of life here.
